Wednesday, Jan. 01, 2003 - 9:26 p.m. WHY DO I LOVE YOU?
You give me new spiritual life, as well as emotionally invigorate my total existence. The love of a beautiful woman is so essential that I ask my self how could I have lived this long without it. At a time in my life when all around me is in a constant state of change, you have remained the one constant that I could always count on. Knowing that I am needed by you gives my life enormous meaning and resolve. Your words touch me so deeply everyday that I miss you terribly when we are apart. I hear the echo of your sweet voice ring with a bright intelligence, which stirs my imagination and hastens my love ever quicker to your side. I pray with you daily, and for you by the hour. I see you ever pure, ever brilliant in His Glory. I see you walking at the cool water's edge, your white linens swaying in the gentle warm breeze. I see a flower in your hand and two beautiful daughters giggling at your side. You give me so much -- more than you will ever know. Because of you, and for myself, I find new growth at a time in my life when logic may have told me no. I have been reborn, when I thought I would have diminished. I have found new love, when I needed it most. And, I have found you, when I thought my dreams were gone. If you will let me but hold your hand I will be joyous forever. To see your smile, I will be in awe. To smell your sweet scent, I will be in rapture. To know that you find strengths in me, I will grow ever stronger. And to feel your emotion, will enlighten my path anew. Love is friendship set afire. I have learned new meaning about life. Questions I raised as a young man have finally been answered. During your days of worry and concern, please lean on me with all your weight. Wake me in the middle of the night, and cry and scream your fears into my soul. Let me hold you and protect you from the unseen evil. And, let me be your perfect friend, and to hold this place in your life. My promise of friendship is simply this: I will give you all I can give you freely and without reserve. I promise to be honest with you, and to be gentle with you when your heart is low, and to be joyous and excited with you when your heart is high. I promise to hold your secrets in a fortress of confidence, and to tell the world of you splendor as you enter each and every new phase of your life. I will be your champion and your mentor, your confidant and your rock of sold uncompromising trust. I will open my self to you and hide no thought or emotion or ideal. I promise to love you, and care for you all the days of my life. I promise to always be there for you, and to put no other priority before your pain. I promise to relieve your suffering in whatever way I can. I promise to magnify your joys. I promise to remember you from where you came, and to celebrate with you wherever you go. I promise to always add to you life something of value. I promise not to hurt you ever. In a word, I promise to be your friend. I hope this letter answers a few questions, and that in some way will comfort you during the wee hours of the night, when you are alone and afraid. My prayers are always with you. And my love for you lights your way in the dark. For you I give these things. Love, Robert
